Song Lam Construction & Investment Company Limited (Investor of Nam Chim Hydropower Plant project) cooperated with Green Climate Innovation Company – GreenCIC to renew the credit period for the second time under the Clean Development Mechanism CDM. The second credit period is from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2026. The estimated annual average GHG emission reduction during the second crediting period is 54,479 tCO2e.
Nam Chim Hydropower project invested by Song Lam Construction & Investment Company Limited involves the construction and operation of a hydropower plant with installed capacity and estimated annual gross power generation of 16 MW and 62.500 GWh, respectively. The hydropower plant is located on Nam Chim stream in Xim Vang commune, Bac Yen district, Son La province. The project activity will generate electricity from a renewable source to supply to the national grid and displace fossil fuel-based power plants. The project promotes renewable energy development, ensures energy security, and contributes to the sustainable development of the local as well as the country.
