Decree No. 112/2026/ND-CP on international transfer of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission mitigation outcomes and carbon credits serves as an important legal corridor for Vietnam to leverage green finance from the global carbon market under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. However, to transform emission reduction potential into tradeable carbon credits on the international market, businesses must proactively prepare and be ready to meet the new rules of the game.
According to Ms. Loan, businesses participating in the market must comply with regulations on approval, registration, and reporting to ensure the reputation and quality of the credits, thereby enhancing their value during international exchanges. Additionally, she expects that the finalization of the green taxonomy will encourage banks and financial institutions to pay closer attention to the potential of carbon projects, facilitating easier access to capital.
With 20 years of experience and a team of seasoned experts, GreenCIC accompanies businesses in capacity building, meeting international market requirements, and realizing their goals of sustainable development.
